The book of John is the most fascinating of all the gospels. It contains unique stories, emphasizing the divinity of Jesus with stories of the miraculous signs he performed. We’re going to study the entire book together!
There are three key words in the prologue to John’s gospel: Word, Life, and Light. Jesus is all three: the Word made flesh, the bearer of Life, and the light of the world.
John the Baptist was not the Messiah, despite what some believed at the time. He was instead the first witness to point to Jesus as the Messiah.
In this passage, Jesus calls his first few disciples, promising them that they will “see great things!”
In this, the first Sign in John’s gospel, Jesus keeps the party going by turning water into wine. But this was much more than a nice gesture or a cool trick—it was a revelation of his glory!
