Scott is one of Artisan’s founding pastors and has been known to say he couldn’t imagine being a pastor anywhere else. He takes his pastoral inspiration from Eugene Peterson, who wrote, “The biblical fact is that there are no successful churches. There are, instead, communities of sinners… In these communities of sinners, one of the sinners is called pastor and given a designated responsibility in the community. The pastor’s responsibility is to keep the community attentive to God.”
Scott graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College in 1999 with a degree in contemporary ministries and music and earned his Master of Divinity degree from Northeastern Seminary in 2005. In his free time, Scott enjoys sports, the outdoors, and playing music, especially anything related to guitar. But his greatest joy in life is his family. If you wish, you can find him on Facebook.
Mike Muscarella is one of the founding pastors at Artisan Church. He graduated with his M.Div from Northeastern Seminary in 2005, and holds degrees in counseling psychology, music performance and sound recording.
Outside of Artisan, Mike writes and records music under Belly of The Whale Music, his own production company. His band, Violet Mary, was named one of the hottest original bands in Rochester NY in 2010 by local rock radio station 94.1 FM, and their first record Marionette has received critical mention. When not playing music, Mike can be found playing Nintendo Wii with his two daughters Cara and Emily, or relaxing on the back porch with Mel.
