“To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, to feed the mind with the truth of God, to purge the imagination by the beauty of God. To open the heart to the love of God, to devote the will to the purpose of God.”
— William Temple 1881-1944

God cares deeply about this potent area of our lives – an area he created after all! So instead of pretending it doesn’t exist, we’ll lean on God as we delve into his breathtakingly frank & beautiful Scriptures, The Song of Songs.
Young, old, dating, single, married, divorced -- whatever your ‘status’ -- all of these topics have real application whatever your situation.
We pray God will graciously guide our community toward biblical maturity, wholeness, and healing in all areas of our life, including sexuality. With frankness, sensitivity, and a touch of humor for good measure, we should do just fine :-)
Please join us and invite lots of friends, family, and neighbors for this provocative special series!

A seldom studied and often misunderstood book of the bible, the Song of Songs is in fact an exquisite and erotic poem written in celebration of married love. First and foremost, though, it’s Scripture. Yet fully appreciating it takes some skillful navigation. So this ‘intro’ seeks to helps us get our bearings as God invites us to more fully understand his biblical view of sex and love.

Torn between a society that often misappropriates sex and a church culture that frequently mishandles the subject, how are we to navigate this potent area? Through the words and actions of young king Solomon and his new bride, Shulamith, God gives beautiful guidelines for the proper context and awakening of passions, and practical insights into how this sacred consummation can be joyful and free.
